ABOUT JODI BEEDELL
Novice local small business owner figuring it all out on my own.Previously a high performing HR generalist who practiced a commercially-focused and value-driven approach in the work that I did. Integrity, resourcefulness and sound judgment, combined with the desire to have fun while helping create inspiring workplaces helped me cultivate and enhance organizational climates.Excellence in client service delivery and stakeholder management is embedded in my everyday style and stems from my background in both hospitality and professional services. All of my work experiences have included the development of good relations with diverse individuals. My strengths lie in taking initiative, fostering open communications, and providing an unmatched level of support. I have been recognized by executive and senior level staff for my approachable demeanor and ability to learn quickly while building trusting and cooperative relationships. My passion for animal welfare has propelled my drive to be a contributing force in advancing humane ethical training standards for our canine companions. I have been a volunteer with many animal focused organizations and eventually undertook an apprenticeship in dog training that began in October 2015. Upon completing my 18 month apprenticeship I began teaching 6-7 classes a week while working in HR full time. My approach to dog training and behaviour change does not involve the use of aversive techniques which means I do not promote tactics that rely on pain, fear, or intimidation. I obtained my Certified Professional Dog Trainer - Knowledge Assessed accreditation through the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT) in March 2018 and completed my Certificate in Counselling & Training (CTC) from the prestigious Academy for Dog Trainers in 2020. Dog training, behaviour consulting, and the training of those who take money for these services is completely unregulated and the hazards associated with this are serious for both the public and the dogs who live in our communities.
