Government Affairs Director @Three Square Food Bank

Serve as a liaison for the local nutrition safety net (food bank, pantries, meal programs, government nutrition programs) to policy leaders at the local, state and federal level. Inspire action in Three Square\'s Government Affairs Department: a team of dedicated employees who are key to achieving Three Square\'s strategic plan goals to close the meal gap in Southern Nevada. In addition to developing Three Square\'s biennial policy agenda and advancing our advocacy goals, my duties include supervising programs that receive direct government funding, including federal nutrition programs for children and SNAP outreach. My department works diligently to grow programs and outreach that provide additional meals in our community as well as returns additional federal dollars to our state. I also serve as principal on all Three Square research endeavors including Three Square\'s local Map the Meal Gap, Vulnerable Populations studies, and Three Square\'s Census. In seeking opportunities to affect change in our food system, I have served on several committees including Southern Nevada Strong, the Social Services Collaborative Advisory Board for Lincy Institute at UNLV, Feeding America\'s Network Policy Engagement and Action Committee, and Downtown Achieves. In March, I was appointed to Nevada\'s State Food Policy Council by Governor Sandoval.
