About Jocelyn Chan

12+ years in both private and public sectors as an experienced architectural conservator, building materials specialist, and advocate for learning from our past to inform our present. Proven ability to guide complex construction projects through all phases - from onsite assessment and materials analysis, through delivery and long-term stewardship. My career has taken me from inspecting facades for deficiencies off 45-story skyscrapers, conducting laboratory materials analysis, conserving priceless artwork, molding masonry patches alongside restoration contractors, designing and specifying conservation treatment programs for landmark cultural heritage, and ensuring quality control through construction administration and project management. In my latest role I was 1 of 2 regional staff to execute historic preservation duties for a 37 million square foot federal real estate portfolio, and 1 of 3 national Materials Conservation subject matter experts agency-wide. I was a technical subject matter expert for our internal business lines and external stakeholders on cultural resource management, building enclosures, innovative technologies for facade inspection, deferred and cyclic maintenance, and materials for non-structural repairs. Representative projects include iconic landmarks such as: 50 United Nations Plaza Federal Building (SF), TWA Flight Center (NYC), Trinity Church (NYC), The Morgan Library & Museum (NYC), Park Avenue Armory Veteran\'s Room (NYC), Ford Foundation Building (NYC), Domino Sugar Factory (NYC), Browning US Court of Appeals (SF), US Customs House (SF), and Prince Jonah Kūhiō Federal Building and US Courthouse (HI). Masters in Science in Historic Preservation with a focus on the conservation of architecture, heritage sites, and monumental objects from the University of Pennsylvania. Graduate of Tufts University with a dual Bachelors in Chemistry and Art History. Board of Directors for the Western Chapter of the Association for Preservation Technology (WCAPT), Professional Associate of the American Institute for Conservation (AIC-PA), and former Treasurer of AIC\'s Architectural Specialty Group.
