ABOUT JOCELYN JOSEPH

I’m Jocelyn Joseph, a trauma-informed therapist, program builder, and the founder of Orenda Psychotherapy. My work is grounded in the belief that healing is a birthright.Orenda began with a question I couldn’t ignore: What would it look like for high-functioning women of color to step out of performance and into presence? To release perfectionism, welcome softness, and feel understood without needing to justify their experiences. That question continues to guide my work.My practice blends clinical depth with cultural care. I support clients navigating trauma, burnout, anxiety, and the emotional weight that comes with being relied on by everyone around them. My approach is holistic, evidence-based, and centered on the full story of a person’s life. Together, we explore what has shaped them, what they’ve carried, and who they are becoming outside of survival mode.In addition to my clinical practice, I build programs that make mental health support more accessible and community-focused. I develop group therapy series, continuing education workshops for clinicians, and digital resources that meet people where they are. I bring intention and clarity to each part of the process.I also serve on the board of Sad Girls Club and work as the Clinical Program Coordinator with the United Federation of Teachers, where I provide therapy and help create wellness programming for NYC educators who often carry more than they speak about. At the center of everything I do is a simple vision: to make healing feel possible. To create spaces where people can set down what isn’t theirs, speak honestly, and begin again. If that resonates, I’d love to connect.
