ABOUT JOCELYN O. HOWARD
I enjoy being heavily involved within OUR community as an activist if you will, educating and empowering others in gaining access to resources and all that their community has to offer. I am a firm believer in cultivating strong community partnerships and supporting one another. I enjoy effectively collaborating with organizations & companies to fulfill business needs while developing educational employment opportunities for various underprivileged communities. As an alumni of AmeriCorps and JusticeCorps, my core passion of helping others began to expand. I was given the opportunity to provide assistance within the Los Angeles Superior Court self-help centers and small claims court within the Department of Consumer Affairs. In addition, I was able to assist, provide support and guidance to low-income families as a facilitator of early education. Today I strive to support, strengthen and provide strategies within higher education, continuing education, and employment. I have an immense passion and dedication to uplift OUR community, it\'s members and the many grass-root efforts to educate and empower one another. My personal mission is to build a community of practice in providing quality community-based resources and wrap-around transitional services for individuals with learning differences, economic disadvantage and other barriers to obtain employment and gain independence.~To strengthen the mind of the individual, collectively empowering our communities.Core ValuesEducation, Collaboration, Communication, Transparency, Personal Development, Inclusion, Community, and Peer-Mentorship.
