About Jocelyn Mujica

Jocelyn Mujica comes from strong stock. Her parents ingrained in her a strong sense of accomplishment, ambition, and drive. She showed this ambition and determination by accepting the opportunity to complete college credits at the Community College of Aurora (CCA) while still a high school student. As a result, she completed both her high school diploma and Associate of Arts degree simultaneously. In her third semester at CCA, she became interested in Architecture as her professional path after taking a class called Creative Design Thinking. This class helped her find her true passion as she learned about the planning and designing of an artistic project. After feeling more confident in her future career path, she transferred to the University of Colorado Denver to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in architecture.In Summer of 2015, she won a study abroad scholarship to Rome, Italy. Undoubtedly, this is one of her best memories she holds from her university experience, as a result her passion for this field and inspiration kept strengthening. Besides being a student, she worked and participated in a federal program for low-income, first-generation students called TRiO Student Support Services. As a participant, she found the support and guidance she needed to succeed in college. As a Peer Mentor, she enjoyed mentoring students who had an interest in pursuing an Architecture degree at CU Denver. This extraordinary opportunity allowed her soul to grow more humble and respectful, after interacting with the program’s students and listening to their stories. Jocelyn’s plans are to continue her education at the University of Colorado Denver with a Master of Architecture degree and become a licensed architect. Down the road, she aspires to become a competent Architect and work on national and international architecture projects, while embracing unique design concepts and cultural aspects that demonstrate the wonderful diversity of the United States.
