Serves the public with responsible department administrative work and coordination, including purchasing, procurement, budget, grant administration, and fiscal analysis work. Work involves assisting the Director in researching, developing, and implementing department policies and procedures related to budgets, programs, and operational issues. Work includes ensuring department compliance with City’s and grants’ policies and procedures related to financial matters, monitoring annual departmental budget status, and coordinating requests into the City’s annual budget; conducting management and financial analyses; coordinating with Finance and other departments to accomplish tasks; and supervising administrative level staff. Work is performed with considerable independence according to established state laws and the City’s ordinances, rules and regulations.
