As Tumor Registry Secretary, Joan works directly with the Tumor Registrar and the Health Information Management Director while insuring that all the reportable cancer cases are being captured and correctly abstracted and reported by the Tumor Registry. she provides physicians and researchers information about hospital experience with cancer outcomes as compared to other published standards. She also retrieves and compiles data for preparation of annual reporting as well as collaborates in generating reports for special duties In addition, Joan examines all patient information for discharges patients, such as Operative Reports, Pathology Reports, Imaging Studies and Discharge Summaries.
