I landed my first publishing job because of a poker game and became a copyeditor for Chemical Week magazine (four floors up from Business Week). Favorite headline? Big Fees Bug Pesticide Makers.Since then, I\'ve written about software, wine, and goose down-including website content, technical help, blog posts, video scripts, catalog copy, and three books of poetry. I\'m a Senior Technical Writer at Winshuttle, where I develop help content, UI strings (put that help right in the product), and guidelines.Previously, as a Senior Content Developer at Microsoft, I worked on content strategy, including customer intent analysis and SEO (what are people trying to do, why do they need help with it, what\'s keeping them from being successful, or why can\'t they find the answer?). I wrote, edited, produced, and curated help content for Microsoft Outlook, Word, Publisher, and OneNote-including user interface text, how-to articles, blog posts, and videos. I\'ve also created content for Cloudlift Cellars (http://cloudlift.net) and Eddie Bauer. My fourth poetry collection, In Both Hands, was published in February by Ravenna Press.
