First woman in the history of the Boston Athletic Association (BAA) to be elected President. Led the BAA in the aftermath of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombings. Member of the Board of Governors since October of 1996. Worked to increase diversity of the Association, and secure additional funding and sponsorship. Governance expert. Member of Charity and Compensation Committee. Active presenter on the Marathon, and my experience in the 2013 bombing.

ABOUT JOANN FLAMINIO
From 1993 through 2017, I held two paid positions: first, I led the Rhode Island agency responsible for public pension management; and second, I was employed by Fidelity Investments for seventeen years in a variety of positions including public affairs and government relations, communications and thought leadership, and contract management. As a volunteer, I have been intimately involved with the Boston Athletic Association and the Boston Marathon. In 2010, I was elected to the Presidency of the Boston Athletic Association, the first female president in the Association\'s 127-year history. Most recently, I have been working with Kathrine Switzer on her new venture, the 261 Fearless Foundation, that seeks to empower women through the creation of non-competitive running clubs.
