ABOUT JOANNE WALLEN

I am the Managing Director, National & Global Events at the USTA, responsible for leading a diverse portfolio of professional, national, and international events across the U.S. and globally. This includes oversight of the U.S. Pro Circuit, ITF events, and major international competitions, with a focus on elevating standards, driving operational excellence, and building sustainable event models.My work sits at the intersection of global competition, athlete pathways, and business strategy, supporting events that span from developmental professional opportunities through the highest levels of the sport, including Olympic and Paralympic competition. I collaborate closely with national and international stakeholders to align strategy, operations, and long-term growth.Previously, I served as General Manager of the USTA National Campus, leading the operations and programming of the largest and most innovative tennis facility in the world. Over the course of my 25+ years in the tennis industry, I have played a key role in adult competition, wheelchair tennis, and major championships, including serving as Tournament Director for the US Open Wheelchair Championships.I am passionate about building high-performing teams, advancing athlete-focused pathways, and using innovation to strengthen the future of tennis, both in the U.S. and on the global stage.
