I joined Triumph on a 6-month contract (which expanded to 10 months) to manage an inload project for 7 different Airbus products. I had to work under my own initiative to review the bills of material, identify the suppliers and establish the required delivery schedule. I had to communicate the schedule to the suppliers and then assess their responses to determine how this would impact the customer delivery. I had to present status to the customer, Airbus, 3 times per week. I was also required to assist the suppliers in resolving technical queries through the Engineering Department and financial queries though the Accounts Department. My remit was expanded to include A320 and A380. I was required to provide early indication of potential problems within the delivery schedule and to lead the purchasing team through the problem resolution.
