ABOUT JOANNE RISEBOROUGH

An experienced Data senior professional, with a number of years working within Data Management, Data Privacy and Data Risk.In a world where everyone is talking about AI, the conversation often overlooks what truly makes AI successful. As the group’s Data Management and Data Culture Director, I lead a large team of exceptionally talented, data-literate individuals. Together, we play a crucial role in shaping the data strategy for the LBG group. Our focus is on leveraging data to drive innovation and efficiency, ensuring that our AI initiatives are not only cutting-edge but also grounded in robust data practices. My responsibilities encompass a wide range of areas, including data culture, data management (data quality, metadata management, and data products). Additionally, I am responsible for making the group one of the most data-literate financial institutions in the world, setting a benchmark for others to follow.By establishing foundational principles, I ensure that our consumption model is self-serviced and consistent, supporting use cases. This approach enables us to deliver significant customer value. Before joining LBG, I spent nearly 15 years at Aviva, where I was dedicated to keeping the organization safe. My roles there were diverse, ranging from audit and governance to underwriting and preventing financial crime. I also had extensive involvement in data management, which included overseeing data privacy, data governance, data quality, data change, data strategy, and risk and records management functions. This extensive experience has equipped me with a comprehensive understanding of the critical importance of data in driving business success and maintaining organizational integrity. My journey at Aviva provided me with the skills and insights necessary to excel in my current role, where I continue to champion the transformative power of data.I am highly organised, motivated and enjoy relationship building and driving change with the Data agenda and moving it forwards meaningfully to respond to internal and external needs.
