ABOUT JOANNE ENG-FROST
Cardiologist with interests in advanced heart failure and cardiogenic shock, and addressing the burden of cardiovascular disease in women. My previous training in biomedical science has cultivated an appreciation for the synergistic nature of research and clinical practice. I am currently undertaking a PhD focused on advancing risk stratification of in-hospital worsening heart failure and cardiogenic shock, using non-invasive methods including echocardiography and near-infrared spectroscopy.Other career goal includes serving rural communities. My upbringing and subsequent medical training in rural communities has acutely highlighted the disparities in healthcare access and health outcomes between metropolitan and rural populations. I am also actively involved in medical education through my roles as a Clinical Lecturer with Flinders University and University of Adelaide, and previous experience as Medical Education Registrar with Southern Adelaide Local Health Network.
