About Joanna Hefty Libby

Since starting her teaching career, Joanna has focused her work on creating authentic learning experiences for students that prepare them for college, career, and beyond. After teaching in the classroom, she joined Summit Public schools to project manage curriculum and their shift to the Personalized Learning Platform. She piloted and managed the creation and implementation of Summit\'s literacy program, Summit Reads, managed Summer at Summit. Most notably, she led the professional development teacher program, eight weeks designed to ensure every Summit educator is an empowered, self-directed, and continuous learner who makes measurable progress on site, curriculum, and individual goals. She is currently at Learner-Centered Collaborative (formerly Altitude Learning) working with school leaders to put learners at the center. She works to create systems and structures that amplify our impact and mission. She is invested in putting learners at the center of educational experiences and supporting learning ecosystems to accomplish that goal. Joanna received her BFA in Theater from New York University and her Masters in Teaching from Pace University.
