ABOUT JOANNA SESSIONS
We work with adults and professionals who need to improve and reach their desired level of English. While most students wish to take a general English course, some have goals to achieve an external examination which could mean promotion or entrance into a university. Most recently, we have been contacted by students and agents wishing to combine a general English course with English for Law, Aviation or Medical careers. LanguageUK is now in the process of designing new programmes for these. Some students wish to bring their children to have an English experience whilst they are studying and LanguageUK has been successfully running courses for families throughout the year since 2012. Our students enjoy the intimacy of the small class. This benefits our teachers as well as it gives them the opportunity to get to know their students on a more personal level. Our academic manager is employed to ensure the academic syllabi meet the needs and expectations of all the students and this involves weekly meetings with the teachers and official monthly tutorials with the students to discuss their progress and future goal setting. We enjoy daily interaction with our students. Outside the classroom and during the breaks we have small social gatherings usually with tea, coffee and sometimes biscuits. These daily social meetings that bring the staff and the students together are very special and important. It is a positive experience for everyone. Our classrooms and offices are maintained to a modern and high standard with all the technical facilities that are expected within an educational establishment. We have 9 spacious classrooms, a computer suite for self study and exams, a large school conference room, board meeting room for our business students and a brand new restaurant and coffee bar for our students and members of the public to use.Students are welcome to use our large courtyard garden with surrounding trees and plants and set at the back of the building. We are based in the centre of the Cathedral city of Canterbury which offers an offers an amazing choice of activities and places to visit to suit all interests. It is also just 1 hour away from London on the train.
