I have extensive experience of complex orthopaedic injuries, acquired brain injuries and the management of psychological symptoms. Over the past 15 years I have successfully managed highly challenging clients and their families following life changing injuries.I have worked with clients from a wide range of social and cultural backgrounds and am adept at working in close liaison with interpreting/translation services to ensure the client and their family are able to communicate their needs and make informed decisions around treatment/therapy plans.I am a true advocate for any clients; supporting and empowering them to take control of their new lives to achieve the best possible outcome through well-reasoned and cost effective rehabilitation.As a qualified social worker I have experience working in the private sector and local authority setting. This varied experience means I am aware of the appropriate services available and will always research and asses all options available for my client. I have also been involved in many ‘return to work’ and ‘return to education’ cases which have been successful through careful pre planning, coordination and graded implementation.I have a caring and supportive nature which has taken me into lead roles within child protection and the safeguarding of vulnerable adults. I have been involved in the developing and undertaking of comprehensive risk assessments and I have also developed and provided training in safeguarding matters into the Mental Capacity Act 2005.
