About Joan McDonough

Curiosity has driven me for as long as I can remember. When I stumbled into journalism, I discovered a way to bring my obsession with asking questions into the real world and I was ecstatic. I have a passion for interviewing and researching for any story. I pride myself in taking the time to research someone before I head into an interview in order to find the most compelling information possible. I stick to my four \'c\' words when I head into interviews: calm, confident, curious and challenging.I also love editing other writers\' work and helping them to ask questions they hadn\'t yet considered. I strive to carry this enthusiasm for learning into every aspect of my life. In each new position, job or assignment I\'m given, I take in a new skill and hone it as best as I can. My experience at Reporter helped set a foundation for my editing, time management and staff management skills.I bring positive energy and an open mind to every challenge I face. I aim to combine my education in journalism and legal studies to explore many different career options and gain as many unique perspectives as I can in my professional life. Those have so far brought me to the public relations and fundraising worlds. Who knows where this journey will take me next.
