About Joana Gjini
First-Generation | Driven | Hardworking | Leader | Passionate about Engineering & ArchitectureI’m a 2nd year student at Northeastern University, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in a double major of Civil Engineering and Architectural Studies.From a young age, I’ve been fascinated by how things are built and designed which shapes the world around us. Whether I was constructing with LEGO, wooden blocks, using tools, or sketching dream homes and buildings, I always loved the technical and creative sides of design. Math was always my favorite subject in school, fueling my love for problem-solving and understanding how things work.This early curiosity grew into a passion for blending the precision of Engineering with the artistry of Architecture. Throughout high school, I took every Engineering course available, culminating in a senior-year Engineering Capstone through the PLTW pathway. I also spent two years in the A.C.E.(Architecture, Construction, Engineering) Mentor Program of Greater Boston, where I gained hands-on exposure to both Engineering and Architectural fields. I especially loved visiting job sites in PPE, learning about the buildings being designed and constructed, and seeing how ideas on paper come to life to shape the city of Boston.I’m currently seeking a summer internship and co-op position at an Architecture / Civil Engineering / Architectural Engineering firm in the Greater Boston Area, where I can apply my academic knowledge, grow my technical skills, and contribute to impactful design and construction projects.
