About Joan Hinsdale
I love my work with children and families. Nursing has been my inspiration for the past 40 years. I find nothing as rewarding as supervising, teaching and direct patient care. My interest lies in advocating that every child has access to healthcare that is both excellent and near home. When I can empower a family to take care of a very sick or medically complex child, I know I\'ve done my job. I have an interest in the chronically medically complex child, specifically one with neuromuscular disease. I have professional experience as a Camp Nurse with MDA from the years 2011 through 2016. I have an MBA with a focus in Leadership. My interests are in education of families to access the highest level of care possible. Music, Dance, Swimming, Family and Outdoor activities, ie, Hiking, camping are my passion. I am a natural fundraiser and work closely with the Center for Independent Futures in Evanston, IL to insure those with different abilities are able to live a successful life in the community.My strength lies in supervising others in the coordination of care for the medically complex child or young adult. I am seeking a career change from ambulatory hospital based nursing and areas of relocation include California and Denver, CO. Working at Lurie Children\'s Hospital currently in Patient Access.
