Digital technologies are omnipresent, and yet there is much more that can be achieved by fully harnessing blockchain to enhance peoples’ security. That is why I contribute ideas and technical skills to the Trust over IP Foundation (ToIP) to enable the transformation of existing platforms and procedures and to build out frameworks for digital crypto businesses.In my day job, I have oversight responsibility for all custody-related business processes and products. I am not only tasked to verify compliance with regulations (MiFID II, COB, PSD2, AML/KYC, RCSAs and CASS) but also ensure the solutions I engineer support the smooth functioning and growth of the business.My role involves owning projects from conceptualisation to design, planning, implementation and ongoing monitoring. Most are highly complex, requiring great attention to detail and tenacious curiosity. I conceived one such project to check all clients’ fee schedules and uncovered misapplications. The net effect was significant additional revenues for the Global Clearance business.Of course, it takes many people to execute large projects, and I lead teams and collaborate with colleagues around the globe. Projects are critical from a risk control perspective, and some are necessary for business growth, such as the scalable framework I devised for the Global Business Clearance Acceptance, which subsequently increased 2.5 times. I was also co-opted into the US-led digital custody project as the Global Asset safety expert to ensure appropriate quality assurance and audit standard controls.Often acting as the SME on committees, I have had substantial exposure to C-suite and SMT. The annual audit plan is an example of a typically huge and risk-critical undertaking for which I act as chair for all SMT meetings.I am always interested in connecting with people who want to develop and leverage emerging digital technologies, including blockchain, cryptocurrencies, frameworks and governance.Please message me on LinkedIn.
