ABOUT JO THOMSON

Variety is the spice of life and leads to a wealth of experience, knowledge and experience which in turn leads to a colourful portfolio career, a complete ‘can do’ attitude and passion for every task undertaken! With a career start in entertainment, magician assistant and professional dancer abroad, this all led into entertainment management on holiday centres. This experience gave me confidence, professionalism, creativity and a presence and the start of my man-management skills! Where would you go from there? I chose a 2 prong approach - dance fitness instructing and HR/ Learning and Development - running apprenticeship programmes for Dorset Council and taking it through to a Grade 1 Ofsted provision!Where could that lead? My next move was 6 years of being self employed in the health and wellness industry learning all aspects of running a business but particularly enjoying communication, PR, marketing and digital marketing! With a success from that, I helped others with business launches, promotional work and networking.For the next years, and after becoming an approved Foster Carer, I worked on fostering promotion, engagement and recruitment for Foster in Dorset, through Whitehead-Ross Education and in partnership with Dorset Council and I LOVED IT! And now? Continuing my work for two divisions, Whitehead-Ross Social Work and Elevate Employment Services as Head of Engagement and I am looking forward to helping the organisation grow through developing national collaborations and partnerships to promote programmes we offer to young people, unemployed adults, troubled families and more. I\'m a true believer in \'If you love what you do, you never ‘work’ a day in your life\'!Thanks for connecting -)
