Research and Innovation has never been more important, but we just don\'t have a diverse range of talented young people choosing this pathway, despite huge efforts to turn the tide over the past 20 years.It\'s time to do this differently. In the classroom as a teacher, Head of Science and School Leader, and now as the Director of the Institute for Research in Schools, I see every day the transformational difference that students being able to do science the way scientists do - through real research - makes to both students and their teachers.
