ABOUT JO BEATTIE-EDWARDS

Based in Southampton, I am a real estate lawyer with over 20 years’ experience and an energy focus working within and leading our Energy and Natural Resources team. I have extensive experience in: • large projects and options/agreements for renewable energy development • rights involved in the process of laying and operating offshore cables and pipelines • leases of areas on the foreshore • offshore mineral agreements • development agreements with complex funding arrangements • working closely with our planning and consenting team to solve property issues I am passionate about achieving commercial and effective solutions for my clients. Through understanding their business, drivers and aspirations of them (and their customers)- we solve legal issues. I was excited to be part of the first Sandscaping project in England which took place in Norfolk in the summer of 2019 - initial reports suggesting that the project is developing as predicted to protect local communities. Co-Chair of WBD Thrive - our internal network working towards enabling all women to achieve their ambitions at WBD. Proud to be involved in Womble Bond Dickinson\'s apprentice and trainee solicitor recruitment programs. These help to build inclusive, strong and successful teams based on trust and mutual respect - I want the right person for the job and to appreciate that we all bring something different to a team.(Pronouns she/her)
