John Plaster, M.S, CAC-AD is a Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists certified associate counselor in alcohol and drug addiction. John is also a Board-Certified Alcohol and Drug Approved Supervisor. John has lived experience and extensive training, education, and special interest in the treatment of addiction disorders. John’s armamentarium includes individual and group therapy, family and couples therapy, CBT, DBT, REBT, Arts Therapy, Music Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Positive Psychology, Christian Counseling, and Meditation. John is also certified as an Auricular Detoxification Specialist using acupuncture and seeds on the ear. John also specializes with the LGBTQI+ population. John enjoys the challenges of a client experiencing addiction and the complexity of their conditions. John feels that the implementation of evidence-based practices, client and patient education and compassionate care all create a more satisfying and nurturing experience for the people we serve. John received his Associate Degree in Business Administration Management from Peirce College in Philadelphia, PA. John attended the University of Baltimore and Coppin State University where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and his Master of Science degree in Addictions counseling respectively.John is a movie buff and his favorite genres are Science Fiction and Horror. John is also an avid player of the Nintendo Switch. John is a cat person but enjoys all animals and being in nature. John enjoys going on cruises to the Bahamas for self-care which is important for all persons in recovery.
