The Executive Director is responsible for overseeing administration of programs, and strategicplanning for Free Geek. They have quarterly meetings with the Board of Directors presentingreports on Free Geeks operations and progress towards the Free Geek mission and vision.They report to the Board of Directors and general duties are as follows.Building organizational capacity for growth and sustainability while improving the organization’s impact.Maintain the financial health of the operation and ensure long-term organizational sustainability. Responsible for overseeing the hiring and retention of competent, qualified staff. Responsible for signing all notes, agreements, and other instruments made and entered into and on behalf of the organization.Works in partnership with the Manager of Operations to establish and uphold policies and procedures for all functions and for the day-to-day operation of the nonprofit in accordance with organizational values. Mentorship and coaching of management-level staff members in addition to connecting managers with appropriate resources to expand their knowledge beyond the organization. Professional development of all managers for performance and development whether they stay at Free Geek long-term or plan to move onto a role outside of the organization. Monthly Board Meetings including board reports and regular ongoing financial updates.Responsible for communicating effectively with the Board and providing, in a timely and accurate manner, all information necessary for the Board to function properly and to make informed decisions.Responsible for planning and presenting the proposed annual budget and monthly financial statements, which accurately reflect the financial condition of the organization.Responsible for strategic planning to ensure that Free Geek can successfully fulfill its Mission.Major Donor asksEvents and public speakingReviewing and signing grant materials.
