Seeking new challenges and committed to continuous improvement, I joined the Infrastructure team at Contentful, focusing on Developer Experience and Platform.In this role, I have played a pivotal role in providing Contentful engineers with an efficient, compliant and secure development environment, equipping them with the right tools for streamlined code development and deployment.My key achievements include- Designed and rolled out a Just‑In‑Time access control model backed by ConductorOne & Terraform, replacing our static access control system of standing admin roles with a short‑lived, least‑privilege permissions based system, removing thousands of permissions with no downtime. Currently, over 95% of our AWS roles are Just-in-Time roles, and ConductorOne is the main tool we use for our User Access Reviews, reaching automation on some tools of over 90%- Led the infrastructure side of Engineering to achieve our SOC2 certification by cross-colaborating between teams to gather all needed evidence and controls in a short-notice and highly agile environment, I automated evidence collection and codified a single, auditable change‑management workflow process used across engineering- Introduced and implemented a new tail-based distributed tracing system using OpenTelemetry, accessible to all developers. This tool streamlines our support for internal client requests and enhances proactive alerting- Implemented a Pact/PactFlow‑based contract testing platform, integrating it into CI/CD so services can validate compatibility pre‑deploy and reduce integration regressions.I actively contribute to hiring and engineering culture as a regular technical interviewer in both Manager and IC processes, as well as present deep‑dive technical talks regularly.

I am Jota, and I am a Software Engineer. I cherish the challenge of developing applications, as I feel it is a puzzle waiting to be solved. I take pride in being a very involved colleague who loves to be part of the whole process from start to end, including product responsibilities as well as infrastructure. In my most recent jobs I have focused on back-end developing, mainly using Rust, Node.js and Typescript.This last years I have worked in Madrid and London, focusing on learning from my teammates along the way and always trying to go the extra mile. I\'ve learned new languages, created new architecture, coached junior members from the team. But most importantly I\'ve met great professionals who I now consider friends and worked on developing awesome products, and I can\'t wait to see what the future holds.
