ABOUT JUSTIN DALTON
I am a Barrister & Solicitor with Alberta Justice, practicing primarily in Aboriginal and constitutional law. My work includes complex litigation and strategic legal advice on section 35 Aboriginal rights, the Crown’s duty to consult, Charter issues, judicial review, and division‑of‑powers questions.I was called to the British Columbia Bar in 2017 and practiced with Pushor Mitchell LLP before transitioning to public service. I was subsequently called to the Alberta Bar in January 2022. I bring extensive courtroom experience from my time as a Crown Prosecutor with the Alberta Crown Prosecution Service, including work in the Edmonton Indigenous Court and Edmonton Mental Health Court. That background informs a practical, litigation‑focused approach to public law matters, grounded in advocacy and sound judgment.
