ABOUT JOHN MCCLUSKEY

After graduating from Caltech, I worked on synthetic aperture radars at JPL for 10 years. In 1988 I moved to Canada and started working on a Masters degree (part-time) in the early 90\'s. Topic:\"Multitone modulation in clipping channels\"(heavy DSP simulation & non-linear analysis of clipping channels). I learned VHDL in the 1993-94 timeframe while working on satellite modems, honing my DSP theory & practice with C++ DSP libraries for Fourier analysis and Viterbi estimation. In 1995, I became a Lucent Microelectronics FPGA FAE at J-Squared, and started teaching VHDL, using a parallel, parameterized style of coding with unconstrained port vectors as a design principle. I joined Lucent Technologies in 1998 until Jan 2001, when I joined Xilinx. Lucent was a great technology fountain, but Xilinx is the firehose of technology. I left Xilinx at the end of May 2013, and started an odyssey of places like Matrox, Accedian Networks, McDonald-Dettwiler, CAE, SSOM, Leddartech, Canadian Marconi (CMC). Now I\'m working on communication systems at J-Squared Technologies. I\'m interested in DSP, AI and neural networks, particularly in how AI can be applied to accelerate engineering development.
