I advise some of Canada\'s largest and most respected companies in the consumer packaged goods, retail, information technology, gaming (systems and games), automotive, financial services, food/restaurant services, manufacturing, insurance, mass media and entertainment sectors in the following areas:• Advertising copy review for all media; packaging and labeling review and compliance, including for regulated products such as food, drugs, natural health products and cosmetics; drafting and negotiating co-promotion, talent, licensing and sponsorship agreements; identifying and advising on privacy issues relating to consumer promotions; and providing compliance advice in the design, review and execution of sweepstakes, contests and promotions. • Privacy law matters including security, compliance procedures and documentation, information audits, privacy policies, consent documentation, organizational procedures and practices, compliance procedures and regulatory matters.• Information technology/e-commerce matters, including transaction and contracting; CASL compliance; website development; online advertising and marketing issues; security of transaction and privacy issues; consumer protection issues; anti-spam; intellectual property rights; jurisdiction and multinational law issues.• Cost of credit disclosure obligations arising from federal and provincial consumer protection legislation, with emphasis on consumer loans, automotive leases and conditional sale/financing arrangements. I also advise credit card, stored value card and virtual card issuers, e-wallet providers, payment solution providers, program managers, and payment networks on regulatory issues in connection with the development of new payment products and on regulatory compliance with respect to payment systems and consumer protection legislation.
