About Jess Krzeminski Gordon
In addition to giving tours and hosting prospective students for Carleton College Admissions, as well as reading applications after graduating, I\'ve been a College Admissions Consultant for high school students applying to college since 2012. Between this ongoing position and my personal application experience, I am an expert at crafting applications for nearly any position. Whether you\'re seeking college coaching, an application review, or career coaching, I provide a comprehensive review of materials—including the CV or resume, essays, and how the application reads as a whole—to ensure that an applicant has included all relevant detail and put their best foot forward. I have been writing professionally across industries and genres for more than a decade. With a PhD in English Literature (UCD 2021) and an MA in Social Thought with a concentration in Gender Studies (NYU 2012), I have completed my dissertation—a book-length project—and am published in multiple academic journals. At the university level, I\'ve taught technical and essay writing in the Rhetoric and Literature programs to students across majors with diverse writing needs.Outside of crafting applications, I am also adept at copywriting and copyediting. In 2021 and 2022 I worked for Reagan Marketing + Design in Grand Rapids, MI. There, I brainstormed concepts, crafted brand strategy, and worked with designers to create verbally and visually stunning communications. I can draft new copy, bring existing copy to life, edit and workshop copy developed by others, and proof copy at all stages of development. I specialize in website copy—auditing existing copy and writing websites from scratch.
