About Jliqua J.
I work at the intersection of detection, investigation, and documentation: the core of what keeps a security operations function running accurately. My background spans alert triage, threat investigation, identity and endpoint monitoring, and structured case documentation across SIEM, EDR, and ITSM platforms. I bring a methodical approach to security event analysis rooted in understanding what a signal actually means before deciding what to do with it. In my current role, I triage security alerts from simulated SIEM pipelines by correlating endpoint, identity, and network telemetry to determine severity, scope, and business impact. I validate evidence artifacts against indicators of compromise before escalating, and I document investigation steps and outcomes in structured case records built for Tier 2 handoff and audit review. I also build and refine investigation playbooks to reduce noise and improve escalation consistency. Prior to transitioning into security operations, I spent years in IT operations roles where I developed a disciplined foundation in account and identity validation, access control monitoring, and structured incident documentation; all of which translate directly into SOC workflows. My work at Instacart required me to analyze suspicious account behavior, correlate user activity and configuration context, and escalate suspected compromise with evidence packages built for containment and remediation handoff. I work across Splunk, CrowdStrike, Microsoft Defender XDR, and ServiceNow and hold CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, and ITIL v4 Foundations certifications. I am currently completing my Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance at Western Governors University. My project work includes log correlation investigations and a published SOC Detection and Log Analysis Lab on GitHub, where I triage SIEM alerts, analyze Windows authentication logs, and validate detections against MITRE ATT & CK.
Experience
Information Technology Operations Analyst
Feb 2022 — Present
In this role, I monitor access and account-related security events by validating identity signals, session activity, and platform telemetry to assess severity, scope, and business risk. I analyze suspicious account behavior and misuse indicators by correlating user activity, configuration context, and historical case artifacts to establish root cause and determine escalation thresholds. Investigation steps, evidence artifacts, and response actions are documented in ITSM workflows to maintain audit-ready case records and support structured incident response handoffs. Suspected account compromise, abuse patterns, and policy violations are escalated with complete evidence packages to Security and Fraud teams for containment and remediation.
