Oversee all aspects of the Safety Department including FMCSA, DOT HOS, CSA initiatives and DOT Safety/Compliance regulations. Check FMCSA portal, SMS and Safer daily for newly uploaded inspection and accidents; issuing corrective action notices. Conduct post-accident investigations and prepare reports identifying possible accident cause and hazards to improve company safety and accident prevention. Plan and implement training for drivers and independent contractors in safety practices. Oversee the Maintenance and new hire process, qualify the candidates and authorize the hiring of new drivers and contractors. Develop and implement standardized processes for driver background checks utilizing PSP, MVR and Drug testing history. Maintain safety documentation in compliance with regulatory bodies for future audits.
