Serve as General Counsel and Interim Head of Investments and member of the senior management team at Massachusetts Clean Energy Technology Center (MassCEC), a leading quasi-public agency focused on economic and workforce development and innovation in the clean energy sector in Massachusetts.Previously served as a member of the senior leadership team and trusted counselor to Fidelity’s institutional and intermediary business responsible the full range of legal support, including regulatory, corporate, litigation, employment, and general commercial matters. Also served as Chief Legal Officer to the Strategic Advisers mutual funds and established and oversaw the group supporting Fidelity’s global asset management. Served as SVP, Deputy General Counsel in 2010 and through to 2020. Breadth and Depth of Experience — Deep and extensive experience working with startups, both at MassCEC, Fidelity and in early career, as well as in mature businesses. Strategic Business Partner — Skilled working in close partnership with the businesses as a full member of the senior leadership team, leveraging in-depth knowledge of clients’ business in conjunction with legal expertise to fashion practical and creative solutions to legal and business challenges. Extensive Board Experience — serve as Secretary and counsel to MassCEC Board of directors; served as lead counsel to the boards of directors of multiple regulated entities within Fidelity, both domestic and international, including numerous investment advisers, three state-regulated trust companies, a Federal thrift, and as Chief Legal Officer of one of the principal Fidelity mutual fund complexes with over $150B in AUM. Also served as a member of the Board of Directors of Fidelity Federal thrift for three years. Extensive Regulatory Experience — Expertise working with various state and federal regulatory and legislative bodies while heading up MassCEC’s government relations function: designed and led the Regulatory Coordination Program Office comprised of attorneys and project managers working in tandem to analyze new regulations, assess potential impacts, and coordinate responses to regulatory initiatives across all of Fidelity’s businesses, legal, and all other support functions. Strong Communication Skills — Highly skilled at translating complex legal issues and analysis into straightforward, easy-to-understand concepts and language while communicating to clients, agencies, opposing counsel and at all levels of the organization.
