Jeff is a proven public-company CEO and board director with senior leadership experience spanning technology, retail, financial services, and consumer brands - from startup environments to Fortune 50 companies. Jeff served for eight years as Director, President, and CEO of H&R Block, where he led a comprehensive transformation of the Company, delivering significant shareholder value. During his tenure, the dividend increased more than 70%, over $4 billion in capital was returned to shareholders, the stock price rose 123%, and the market capitalization grew from $5.5 billion to $7.4 billion. He expanded H&R Block into Small Business Services, launched Spruce mobile banking, and championed the Company’s AI strategy, including AI Tax Assist. Under his leadership, H&R Block strengthened its culture and community impact through initiatives such as Make Every Block Better, Fund Her Future, and A Fair Shot - driving record associate engagement and recognition as a top workplace, including being featured in the 2024 Harvard Business School case study: “Driving Transformation - Jeff Jones at H&R Block”. Prior to Block, Jeff served as President of Global Ride Sharing at Uber and EVP/Chief Marketing Officer at Target. Earlier in his career, Jeff held senior marketing and sales roles at companies including The Coca-Cola Company, Gap and Leo Burnett, and was involved in multiple entrepreneurial and private ventures, including a successful agency turnaround and a take-private of McKinney.
