About Jose J. J. Muñoz

As the Assistant Superintendent of Academics at Norwood Public Schools, I have been leading the academic vision and strategy for the district. With over 10 years of experience in education, I have a passion for supporting teachers, building community, and creating a culture of high expectations for all students. I hold a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Harvard Graduate School of Education, where I learned to apply research-based practices and innovative solutions to complex educational challenges. In my current role, I collaborate with principals, teachers, and other stakeholders to design and implement professional development programs, data-driven instruction, inquiry cycles, and engagement strategies that improve student outcomes and close achievement gaps. I also coordinate the school culture and motivation initiatives, using creative methods such as staff videos and student-teacher relationships. Some of my highlights include desegregating data for a school-wide focus, facilitating student engagement workshops, and producing staff videos for building student-teacher relationships. My leadership style is collaborative, evidence-based, and student-centered, and I always model and empower my staff to excel in their roles.
