ABOUT JIYOUNG LEE
I am currently working as a GIS Informatician II at Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). I contribute to designing, implementing, and analyzing public health geospatial data systems that directly support decision-making and actionable resource planning across the state. My prior experience as a Postdoctoral Researcher at University of Nebraska-Lincoln, my role centers on disaster risk management and hazard mitigation, where I apply GeoAI techniques and drone mapping to quantify the impacts of natural disasters. The focus is on enhancing future resilience through meticulous assessment of private levees and land development patterns using NAIP imagery from the past two decades. In addition to this, as a Graduate Assistant at Louisiana State University, coupled with my skills in GIS Software and Web development, enabled the support of advanced geospatial education.
