ABOUT JIYA SINGH ANKHI

I am a third-year medical student at King’s College London with developing clinical interests in Dermatology, Paediatrics, Women\'s Health and Neurology, while remaining open-minded and keen to explore a broad range of specialties throughout my training.Beyond my academic studies, I am passionate about widening access to medicine, public and global health, equality and diversity, and the role of innovation and entrepreneurship in improving healthcare delivery. I am particularly motivated by initiatives that address health inequalities and improve representation within medicine, and I am eager to contribute to projects with meaningful social impact.I have extensive experience as a tutor and mentor, supporting students at GCSE level in Mathematics and at A-Level in Biology, Economics, and Psychology. I have also provided tailored guidance for medical school applicants preparing for the UCAT and MMIs, with students achieving strong outcomes, including UCAT scores in the I take pride in delivering supportive, structured, and results-focused teaching.My additional experience spans healthcare-adjacent, leadership, retail, and hospitality roles.Collectively, these roles have strengthened my communication, leadership, teamwork, organisation, adaptability, problem-solving, and time management skills. They have also enhanced my ability to liaise confidently with diverse stakeholders and work effectively in fast-paced environments. In particular, my role as Vice President of the KCL Punjabi Society has developed my administrative and financial capabilities, making me proficient in Microsoft Excel and strengthening my skills in budgeting, financial planning, expense tracking, and efficient allocation of funds.I am keen to become involved in clinical or academic research where opportunities are available and welcome connections with clinicians, academics, and students to discuss research, widening participation initiatives, or medical school applications!
