About Jit Sarkar

As a researcher in Polymer Chemistry, I have developed critical thinking and analytical skills through the research projects I have taken on, which required me to produce and analyse large amount of data to present them succinctly for publication or patent purposes. Additionally, I had the opportunity to lead in multiple research projects alongside with my supervisor. During these periods of leadership, I am tasked with designing my own experiment. An example of my designed experiments involves incorporating two independent published theory, Reversible Complexation Mediated Polymerisation (RCMP) technique and Polymerisation-Induced Self Assembly (PISA) technique to achieve vesicles morphology. My creativity in designing experiments has allowed me to achieve three successful publications, alongside with multiple other publications I co-worked with other colleagues.Also, my adaptable nature has allowed me to pick up new skills quickly from the numerous projects I have taken up, regardless experimental/characterisation technique wise. Being equipped with these skills, some of these instrumental techniques I possess may be applicable to your company research, such as NMR, GPC, HPLC, TEM, DLS, Mastersizer, Viscometer, SEM, AFM, etc. Having worked in a highly independent, rather quick-paced and dynamic research lab environment, while ensuring accurate experimental data and results, it has also honed my time management and lab skills while not compromising the quality of work done.Additionally, I am currently working on a scientific project. This project led by me involves block polymer for dispersion which I have designed and synthesise. As the result is better than standard dispersant, this project will be commercialised and patented soon. Finally, my experiences in mentoring final year project (FYP), PhD students and project officers have also trained me to work with others and manage the lab well.
