I am an international attorney with a background in AI, management consulting, and media production.My main practice area is pharmaceutical, medical device, and health care liability litigation. At Columbia, I was a board member of the Columbia Japan Society.After college, I was an associate consultant at the Tokyo office of Bain & Company. I advised an American tech insurance company on its growth strategy in Japan.I then moved back to New York, where I was a bilingual media production manager for Japanese crews shooting TV shows, commercials, and stills in North America for six years. I was the editor-in-chief of the Vanderbilt Journal of Entertainment & Tech Law, organized a conference on tech and influence, and published an article on AI/ML product liability. I also have experience litigating trademark and copyright disputes in court and in the USPTO. Personal BackgroundI was born in Tokyo in 1987. When I was two, my family moved to the United States for my father\'s assignment. For 12 years, I lived in Armonk, New York. In 2002, I returned to Tokyo and graduated from the American School in Japan. I met my wife, Yurina, in NYC. Yurina is a writer whose works can be found on NPR, Japan Times, the Tennessean, and the Nashville Scene, among others. We moved to Tennessee in 2017 and had two boys, in 2018 and 2020, the first in our family to be born in America.
