ABOUT JINHUI TAO

My research is focusing on the physical mechanisms that govern material formation. My expertise in in-situ atomic force microscopy has been critical in unraveling the nucleation and growth pathways across diverse materials, from biominerals, energy materials to 2D materials. As a Senior Scientist, I\'ve contributed to over 100 publications in the fields of biomineralization, energy storage and other materials, with citations over 6500 and H index of 40, served as PI and Co-PI on various DOD, DOE, NIH and industrial projects, and actively engaged in editorial and peer review activities for multiple scientific journals including Science (cover), PNAS, Nat Comm, JACS and Angew Chemie. I have been mentoring young researchers, developing new capabilities, ensuring excellence in the laboratory operations and fostering the next generation of scientists in material and interface sciences in the last decade.
