As part of the First Line of Defence, I conduct control testing and thematic reviews of material operational risks to ensure the effective design and performance of key controls. I lead the full control testing lifecycle—from preparing engagement requests and coordinating with control owners to developing test procedures, scripts, and detailed workpapers that assess control adequacy, operational effectiveness, and residual risk. My responsibilities include conducting process walkthroughs to identify key risks, critical controls (KCs), and MCRs, as well as preparing and communicating findings, control gaps, and remediation recommendations to stakeholders and senior management. I actively support the Annual RCSA refresh by documenting updates to risks and controls, collate and challenge monthly KRI reporting, and escalate issues where metrics fall outside risk appetite. In collaboration with cross-functional risk and compliance teams, I drive governance improvements, propose sustainable process enhancements, and ensure compliance with evolving internal control policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. Additionally, I contribute to strategic initiatives and support senior management priorities while ensuring timely delivery of all testing and reporting obligations.
