As a key member of the North American Finance team dedicated to providing analytical support and business insights for the $10B+ business, I help leaders across functional areas to drive deeper understandings of business performance and trends, as well as, ensure businesses are performing in line with objectives. • Support FP & A (Financial planning and analysis) team by extracting and transforming big complex data sets (millions of records) from various data sources to construct interactive Power BI financial data visualization dashboard around key consumer trends that are driving the category dynamics. • Deliver actionable merchandising recommendations based on various analytical models (Basket Analysis, Time Series Analysis, Forecasting Techniques, and Linear Regression), using analytical tools (R, Python). • Build up Budget models to forecast 2020 New/Rebrand product sales, adjusted margins by SKU, Class, and Department for all the business units. • Work as a strong internal financial resource for accessing internal knowledge, translating it into action to identify opportunities in the assigned category, and facilitating solution development with other team members. • Key role in managing the weekly and monthly P&L (Profit and Loss Statement) results, including financial analysis and sales and margin performance reporting across Staples businesses.
