ABOUT JINA SAWANI MUSTO

I\'m the Public Relations and Communications Manager at Michigan Medicine with responsibility for community benefits and environmental, social and governance priorities, as well as pharmacy and innovation, government relations and select integration work that crosses all units.Previously, I served as a lead public relations representative for several years, where I handled media relations and written communication for various areas across the institution, including transplant surgery, otolaryngology, gastroenterology, hepatology, nephrology, radiology and the University of Michigan Medical School. Prior to joining U-M, I worked in health care and government communications in Washington, D.C, and Southeastern Michigan. I also have nearly 20 years of extensive writing, media relations and crisis communications experience. As a communicator, I love fostering a sense of unity and bridging gaps between cultures through the art of storytelling. While doing this, I\'m often reminded that true engagement of any kind is impossible if we don\'t share our own stories first. Outside of my professional life, I\'m passionate about my family and friends, as well as prison reform, animal welfare, public libraries, creative writing, true crime podcasts, horror movies, Dunkin\' coffee and good food.
