About Jim Ward
I was born and raised in the Austin area, dedicating my career to addressing homelessness and housing insecurity. I am passionate about advocating for equitable, trauma-informed solutions that truly serve marginalized communities.For over 15 years, I\'ve held a variety of leadership roles in non-profit organizations, focusing on literal homelessness through Tenant-Based Rental Assistance. Recently, I’ve made a career shift to focus on the broader housing affordability space and the development of income-restricted housing with the Strategic Housing Finance Corporation of Travis County.I believe the solution to homelessness is housing, and I’m excited for this next chapter of my commitment to creating solutions that are cost effective, compassionate, fair, and centered on the voices of those closest to the problem.I find fulfillment in developing systems that foster humane and effective responses to housing challenges. Beyond my professional work, I’m a father, loving partner, and (part-time) small business owner. Also — Hook \'em!
