Serves as the primary contact and resource for judiciary employees, managers, and members of the state trial courts to address human resource questions and concerns. Provides a full range of centralized, comprehensive human resource management services related to employment including, but not limited to:Hiring and retention, onboarding, benefits, performance management, records management, employee and employer relations, and training for the Michigan Supreme Court, Court of Appeals, and State Court Administrative Office. Essential duties include, but are not limited to the following:• Assist with employment processes, including the hiring and selection process, developing and conducting new employee orientation, counseling employees on benefits, and other terms and conditions of employment with the Court, responding to employee questions related to federal and state employment law, assisting with payroll issues, and providing pertinent information at the time of separation/retirement;• Provide coaching and guidance to employees and managers regarding disciplinary issues and recommend appropriate documentation and follow-up;• Implement and manage the performance communication process;• Ensure all federal and state laws and regulations bulletins are posted and current. Provide annual OSHA reporting information regarding judiciary staff;• Oversee the records retention process and maintain employment records in a confidential manner as required by law;• Assist with employee benefits programs and work with state benefit administrators on more unusual or complex issues. Assist staff with questions regarding annual insurance open enrollment;• Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database.
