Good Day! Thank you for visiting by LinkedIn page to learn a little bit about me. My name is Jim Lin and the last few years I led and manage a small team of 4-5 technical field applications engineers. Our team supported and engaged in over 50 active customers at any one time across 3 regions (US, Europe, and SE Asia). Through our hard work and collaboration as a team, we help grew and generate revenue for our company by working with customers and bringing their application to production. Last year (2021) our small but efficient technical team directly supported projects that contributed to over 80M of revenue! Our responsibilities include working directly with customers, interface with our internal engineering, sales, marketing, and providing our technical expertise and project manage to find solutions. A bit about me and what I bring to the teams and companies I work at…PERSONAL – I started out in my career as a pure R and D SW Engineer at the HP Company. After 3 years I found I wanted to work with people, meet different customers, and have a deeper impact to my company by bringing customer applications to production. Therefore I decided on a career switch to Field Applications Engineering. Now after 20 years.people, managing teams, meeting customers, and supporting others are still what drives me. TECHNICAL – In these 20+ years, I have traveled and supported customers around the world including a 5-year residency in Taiwan and Singapore. I learned a lot about embedded software, sensors, semi-conductor industry, and the consumer markets. But the main skill I developed is working with many different people and companies, and because every customer application is very different.I learned how to problem solve and be able to ascertain solutions to, often times, unfamiliar situations. TEAMWORK –I have a love of learning board games. I love opening a new boardgame, looking at all the beautiful pieces, learning the rules sets, figuring out the game world and where all the different pieces go and move into a cohesive, efficient, and fun system. I especially like cooperative board games like Gloomhaven and Spirit Island where as a team everyone works together to learn and help each other to win. When I work with a team, weather I manage or am a part of, that is approach I bring…how can I learn and contribute to make this team experience cohesive, efficient, and overall…fun!
