ABOUT JIMMY MANUEL
Currently serves as the Flight Commander, Financial Management Analysis, Kadena Air Base, Okinawa, Japan. Responsible for leading a team of 22 financial analysts as well as 85 resource advisors, allocating $340M in support of combat wing operations.He is a Finance officer with a Certified Defense Financial Management (CDFM) certification. During his first assignment, he was the Deputy Budget Officer for U.S. Air Forces Central Command (USAFCENT). He managed a $1.2B annual budget, providing wartime support to 27K personnel across seven Air Expeditionary Wings (AEWs). Furthermore, he provided financial decision support and recommendations to senior leadership. In addition, he deployed twice as a Paying Agent to support exercise Eager Lion as well as the Dubai Air Show, accountable for $60K in cash disbursements to foreign vendors. As the Kadena Air Base Flight Commander, Capt Manuel manages the Government of Japan’s, Labor Cost Sharing program, supporting 3K Japanese personnel. In 2018, he led a seven member typhoon evacuation team, to close out the fiscal year at a geographically separated location. The team earned Air Force level recognition and the 2018 Special Acts & Services award for their efforts. Additionally, his efforts helped his squadron earn the 2018 Air Force Comptroller of the Year Award.
