ABOUT JIMMY GILLISPIE
Where did your Summer Internship lead you? Mine led me to my current role as VP-Agency/Sales for portions of Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee and Kentucky.My State Farm story began, nearly three decades ago, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, where my college professor recommended I apply for an internship with State Farm Insurance Companies. From Summer Intern to Claim Representative to Claim Specialist to opening my own agency in Vestavia Hills, Alabama in July State Farm’s mission to help people manage the risks of everyday life, recover from the unexpected, and realize their dreams became a reality for me and my family. By simply doing the right thing and caring for the community, as an agent, our dedicated team achieved many agency incentives including earning the Chairman’s Circle Award in 2002 and 2003. Realizing my career dreams would mean nothing without the love and support of my family, mentors and community. My greatest joy as a leader is identifying and cultivating the potential of others and seeing them succeed. As Coach John Wooden said \"You can\'t live a perfect day without doing something for someone who will never be able to repay you.\" Serving and caring for others is a vital component of my leadership journey.
