About Jimmy Cuellar

I began my career with Zekelman Industries in May 2005. I entered the workforce as an overhead crane operator. In February 2011 I decided to move into the production side of the industry. As a mill operator I was responsible for mill setup, production, and exceeding industry standards for size and quality. I have training on structural mill ranging in 2 1/2\" square sizes thru and including 16\" sq or 20\' round. I also have extensive training in slitter operating in both center line and base line slitter. In October 2011 I became a union representative for the Teamster local 731. During this time, I developed and expanded my knowledge of contractual language and its everyday application through CBA contract negotiations and the grievance procedures. I also joined the employee safety committee in 2011. I Have since be involved with weekly and monthly meetings to insure employee development and job safety. Through this committee I became a certified crane trainer through both Kone Crane and Zekelman industries. IN October 2016, I became the Warehouse Foreman. In August 2019, I became a Production Supervisor. In October of 2022 i became the Production Manager. In October of 2024 i became the Plant Manager at Wheatland Tube Chicago. I am excited to learn a different aspect of our business. I am continually looking for ways to expand and challenge myself.
